Description

Spent three nights out in the countryside around New Year's to escape the noise and craziness of Berlin. I brought my gear hoping for one clear night and was lucky enough to be able to image almost continuously for three nights.

This was the first time to really try out my narrow-band filters, my 0.75x reducer, and a lot of the new features that had been added to the Asiair since I last used it. The Polar Alignment process of the Asiair is hands down the best and easiest I've used so far.

Unfortunately, I didn't pay as much attention to focusing as I should have. Initial focus was mostly good, but I didn't check focus regularly or after changing filters, which resulted in a lot of blurry data. Also, I should really have gathered more data for individual objects rather than imaging as many objects as possible. Still learning, I guess!

Anyway, this is the Rosette Nebula in HSO, trying to stay close to a realistic color palette. I've tried a Hubble palette as well, but liked this version better.
